How to play Echo Vault
Watch the numbered tiles light up, then repeat their sequence. Later chambers switch between forward, reverse and mirrored-column recall.
- Choose a daily course or fresh practice course. Watch the tiles light up one at a time.
- Repeat the sequence by tapping the tiles, or using keys 1–9. Read the rule: reverse chambers require the last tile first, and mirror chambers flip each tile across the grid.
- Clear twelve chambers. You have three lives for the whole run and one optional replay in each chamber.
Controls and accessibility
Click or tap numbered tiles, or use the number keys 1–9. Tiles follow reading order, left to right. Sound is optional; the numbers and highlights carry all the instructions. If playback is interrupted by switching tabs, resume to watch it again.
Chambers 3, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 12 introduce reverse or mirrored recall. The game does not diagnose or measure intelligence. There is no input timer: take the time you need.
What makes a good run?
Each completed chamber earns 100 points per tile. Each wrong press deducts 75 points from that chamber and costs a life; a replay deducts 100 points and restarts your input sequence. Chamber scores never go below zero. Sequences grow from three to nine tiles and playback gets faster.
Do friends get the same challenge?
Yes. A challenge link includes a course seed and your score. Opening it selects the same sequence of rounds, even on another day. Daily courses use the UTC date at the start of a run. Practice creates a fresh course. Scores are editable URL values, not verified leaderboard entries.
Where are my records stored?
Your latest twenty completed runs stay in this browser. No account, tracking code or server score submission is used by this game. Scores from different courses can vary in difficulty. The local best combines your saved courses.
